Certainly a big news this one. On the evening of 3rd March 2017 at the Asian Cycling Confederation Congress in Bahrain Mr. Onkar Singh Secretary General of the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) took over from Boo Woong Choi of Korea as the Secretary General of Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC)
The Cycling Federation of India President Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa was also elected as Vice President of Asian Cycling Confederation. Sheikh Osama Ahmad Al Shafar from UAE will be the new president of ACC who will take charge from Hee Wook Cho of Korea
65-year-old Onkar Singh became Secretary General of Cycling Federation of India in 2011 and since then he’s promoted the game of Cycling in India and marketed it across the globe. Under his stewardship signature events like the Track Asia Cup and recently held 37th Asian Track Cycling Championships New Delhi have been held in India.
Elated Onkar Singh thanked all the 41 Asian Nations for the faith they have shown in the new President and Secretary General. He also thanked all the Cycling lovers for their unconditional support and said that without your love and blessing this would have never been possible.
He also said that ‘I am doing my best to uplift the Cycling sport in India and with this new energy I can do more with new strategy.’
