Himalayan Rush a CRANK partner event is a cross country triathlon set in and around Begnas Lake (Pokhara) – one of Nepal’s most scenic and accessible lakes.
Over the last 6 years what started as a passion project has grown to become a vibrant addition to the trail racing scene in Asia and beyond. In the last 2 years it has been named the Best Off-road triathlon in Asia (Asia Tri) and made it to the list of Top 5 Destination Triathlons in the World (Triathlon Magazine Canada).
The 2017race, held on 25 March, lived up to its reputation as one of the friendliest and toughest cross country triathlons in the region. The 117 athletes who competed this year brought a spirit of challenge, exhilaration and fun to the race.
Himalayan Rush Triathlon attracts a diverse group of participants, all of whom come seeking a world class destination triathlon experience. UK, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Japan, Thailand, India and Nepal are some of the countries represented at the race.
Maneesh Shrestha, Founder of Himalayan Rush highlighted the spirit of camaraderie and community that pervades the race, saying, “Our participants come from all over the world and many of them come back over the years with friends. It is inspiring and humbling to see people doing their best in a really tough race and encouraging others to do the same. We love the sense of community we have among our athletes.”
