tdsIntroducing to you another great CRANK partner event. The famous Jungles of Satpura that were once known for the adventures of Mowghli and his pals has a new excitement cooking in their backyard. A group of cyclists from Nagpur, called Cycle Safari, who are engaged in conducting unforgettable cycling holidays, which range from overnight camping (S24O) to multi-day adventures through forests, villages and mountains have launched their first tour and they are calling it ‘Tour De Satpura’.

The group is run by four cycling and nature enthusiasts. Sachin Palewar, the man who had cycled 13000Kms last year that included his participation in Tour of Aravallis, India Gate to Gateway of India and multiple brevets. Along with him is Anil Jaiswal, a nature and cycling enthusiasts who can be found every weekend riding through some forest on his MTB or camping there. Amol Khante, also known as the adventure man of Nagpur, runs a leading Adventure Camping and Outdoor Training organization in Nagpur. Parasailing, paragliding, hot-air balloon, ATV, Himalayan trekking and camping, and is also part of the core team. While Ashish Ukey, the 4th partner runs a top-of-the-line Event Management Company. Together they have put together an unforgettable and unique tour that is bound to leave the participants asking for more. Also, this being the first such event and being routed through some of the most pristine and thick jungles adds to the thrill and challenge. Added to this will be the ample doses of getting to explore the local culture and cuisine for which the team is trying to rope in villages’en-route for support.

Tour De Satpura is a fully supported cycling tour through the Satpura Hills. Tour will start from Nagpur and end at Tawa Dam near Itarsi. It will have 4 days of riding through breathtaking hills and picturesque forests. 4 nights stay at Tamia Pachmarhi, Madhai and Tawa with all meals and on ride nutrition included and there will be a Cool-Off party at Tawaat the finish line. Riders will cover a distance of 400 KMs with total elevation gain of 3000+ meters during the tour.

Day 1 – The Patalkot is a mystical, horse–shoe shaped valley, spread over an area of 79 Sq. Km and is surrounded by giant hills. Patalkot is home to a tribal culture skilled at using the forest plants to make effective medicines. The Patalkot forest is so well hidden that people on the outside did not even know it ever existed. Start Point: Ramakona, End Point: Tamia, Distance: 97 KMs

Day 2 – Pachmarhi Situated at 1100 m, Pachmarhi, popularly known as ‘Satpura ki Rani’ (Queen of Satpura), sits beautifully, embellished by nature and history, amidst the Satpura ranges. Legend says the Pandava visited Pachmarhi during their exile. This most popular hill station of Madhya Pradesh is a treasure with ancient caves of the Buddhist era residing in harmony with serene waterfalls. Start Point: Tamia, End Point: Pachmarhi, Distance: 81 KMs

Day 3 – Madhai .Few places in the world can compete with its raw wilderness, absolute tranquility and the air of mystique. It delights you with its rich wildlife, sprawling meadows, unending backwaters and spell-binding views that leave you awestruck and get you to be completely in sync with the magic of nature. Start Point: Pachmarhi, End Point: Madhai, Distance: 120 KMs.

Day 4 – The Tawa Dam & Reservoir offers a scenic escape. Sunsets viewed from the dam are especially enchanting. Even more enchanting is the lake cruise, which takes you on a serene hour-long ride along the dreamy little islands dotting the reservoir and the panoramic hills of the Satpura to Churna. Start Point: Madhai, End Point: Tawa, Distance: 85 KMs, Ride to Tawa via Itarsi. Closing party at Tawa. Night Stay at Tawa Dam & Reservoir.
